1st SIGCHI.be Conference on Human-Computer Interaction

The first SIGCHI.be conference intends to bring together researchers and
practitioners working in the domain of human-computer interaction,
including usability specialists, designers, computer scientists, etc.
The organizing committee invites you to submit papers addressing the
special theme and topics for presentation at the conference.

The special theme is "New Communities". This theme addresses the recent
interest in building and supporting communities online, whether in the
form of groupware, work communities, social networks, community software
or communication tools. It also refers to the new community of Belgian
HCI professionals that this conference wants to bring together, enabling
them to present their work to each other and to the broader ICT community.

Topics

Papers are solicited from, but not limited to the following topics:

* community-centered design

* impact of technology on communities

* mobile devices

* ubiquitous/pervasive computing

* interactivity

* collaborative technology

* networked devices

* social spaces

* technology as a group experience

* ...


Submission guidelines and deadline

----------------------------------

Submissions are expected to be 2-8 pages long and should clearly
describe the content of the presentation. We are kindly requesting to
submit in the ACM format http://sigchi.org/chipubform/ . You can re-use
material from previously published papers.

Submissions should be addressed to david.geerts@soc.kuleuven.be.

Paper submissions will be peer-reviewed.

Deadline for submission: 15 July 2009

Announcement to authors: 1 September 2009

  1. Great information. Thanks for that. I had attended a conference previously, which is a Cloud Computin Virtual Conference 2009. I gained a lot of information from that.
